Hello Van Buren Families!

Happy Teacher Appreciation Week! We will be celebrating with a Wicked/ Wizard of Oz theme this year. Here are a couple ways you can show your appreciation to the staff if you choose and support our theme!

  1. Monday – Be a member of the “Council of Magic- Makers” – staff will be identifying wishes – I will be sending out the wishes later tomorrow – if you would be willing to fill a wish and be a VB Magic Maker just sign up on tomorrow’s spreadsheet.
  2. Tuesday – Fill the “Oz Dust Club” – with snacks/drinks/treats during the week. Just bring in a snack for staff anytime this week and we will place it in the teacher’s lounge. (They love ice cream treats!!)
  3. Wednesday – each student will be bringing home two thank you notes. Please help your student complete one for any staff member. The second one is for parents to write a special note. These will be shared with staff on Friday and some by our guest “Wizard” on Thursday.

PTA Walk-A-Thon: Thursday students brought home an envelope describing our spring walk-a-thon. This is the only school fundraiser we do. Money collected will be used to support teachers setting up their classroom in the fall and growing our PBIS school store. We will also be having a coin collection – students will use their coins for the staff member they would like to dunk in the dunk tank on field day!
