Camp Tanager Opportunity:
Please find attached application forms for the 2024 Camp Tanager Summer Camp Program. Camp Tanager has been in existence since 1926 and since our inception has provided free camp opportunities for youth ages 6-11 years. Each summer, Camp Tanager provides over six hundred, 100% free camp scholarships to kids in the Eastern Iowa area that would be financially unable to afford a summer camp experience. Applications can be submitted online for Camp Tanager, this is our preferred method. We also understand that some camp families may have limited access to computer resources that would allow them to complete the application online. To that end I have included a PDF of the form that parents can complete and return directly to camp or back to the school to return to Camp Tanager. If you would prefer, I can also mail paper applications directly to you via van mail.Applications can be completed online at this link
At Camp Tanager we value the long-standing partnership that has been established with school counselors in the AEA and we know that you are in a better position than us to recognize the campers that may need this camp experience the most. If you are new to your role and would like to find out more about our summer camp program please feel free to reach out and I would be more than happy to visit with you about our program. Further information about our free campership program and our other programs can be found at www.camptanager.org. Camp also offers a paid day and overnight camp for youth ages 6-11 that can afford the cost of camp as well as two special medical camp weeks for kids with Bleeding Disorders and Type 1 Diabetes. We also offer a sports specific program for kids involved in competitive swimming.
